This website is operated by Blank Story, a brand of Peaceful Chaos, registered in Cambodia at 157 West Riverside Street, Krong Siem Reap. Throughout the site, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to that company. By visiting the site or buying something from us you engage in our service and agree to these terms, together with the policies referenced in them.
We may update these terms by posting a revised version on this page. Continuing to use the site after that counts as acceptance.
By agreeing to these terms you confirm you are at least the age of majority where you live, or that you have the consent of a parent or guardian. You may not use our products for any unlawful purpose, and you may not transmit malicious code to the site.
We may refuse service to anyone, for any lawful reason. You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell or resell any part of the service without written permission. Card information is encrypted in transit.
Material on this site is provided for general information. The historical content on the mask pages is researched and sourced but is not a scholarly publication, and should not be relied on as the sole basis for a decision. Where we describe a tradition as living or as historical, we say so on the page.
Every mask is cast by hand in plaster, one at a time. Small variations in surface, weight and dimension are inherent to that process and are not defects. Dimensions and weights given on the site are approximate and will be confirmed against the first production run.
We have made every effort to show colours accurately, but we cannot guarantee your screen renders them faithfully. Product images that show a mask painted are illustrations of what the object can become, not a representation of what arrives in the box. Every mask ships white.
Prices are subject to change without notice. We may limit quantities, refuse or cancel any order, and discontinue any product. Where an order is cancelled by us, you are refunded in full.
Masks marked as arriving in 2027 are not yet in production and no date is committed until it appears on the product page.
Before a mask goes on sale you may join its launch list. This is an email notification only. It is not a reservation, it does not create a contract, it does not hold stock and no payment is taken. You may unsubscribe at any time, and we do not use the list for anything except telling you that a mask is available.
The paints supplied are water-based and non-toxic. The mask is plaster and will break if dropped onto a hard surface, and broken plaster has sharp edges. Recommended for ages seven and above. Not suitable for children under three. Adult supervision is sensible for younger painters.
These masks are made in tribute to living and historical traditions that belong to the communities that created them. Our products are not consecrated or ritual objects and should not be represented as such. Where a mask is sacred in its own context, we say so on its page.
The Blank Story name, logo, packaging, sculpts, photography and written content on this site are our property. Historical images reproduced here are public domain or Creative Commons and are credited on the Image credits page.
The site may link to third-party sites and use third-party services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or practices. Review their terms before you use them.
If you send us ideas, suggestions or other material, we may use them without restriction or compensation, and we are under no obligation to keep them confidential or to reply. Anything you send must be yours to send and must not be unlawful or abusive.
Your submission of personal information through the site is governed by our privacy policy.
Occasionally information on the site may contain a typographical error, an inaccuracy or an omission relating to a description, price, promotion, shipping charge or availability. We reserve the right to correct these and to cancel affected orders, including after an order has been submitted.
You may not use the site or its content for any unlawful purpose, to infringe anybody’s rights, to harass or discriminate, to submit false information, to upload malicious code, to collect other people’s personal information, to scrape or spider, or to interfere with the security of the site.
We do not guarantee that your use of the service will be uninterrupted or error free. The service and the products delivered through it are provided as is and as available, except where we have expressly stated otherwise.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising out of your use of the site or the products is limited to the amount you paid for the product concerned. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Blank Story and Peaceful Chaos, and their officers, employees and contractors, from any claim arising out of your breach of these terms or your violation of any law or third-party right.
If any provision here is found unlawful or unenforceable, it is severed and the rest continues to apply. These terms are effective until terminated by either of us. Obligations incurred before termination survive it.
These terms, together with the policies referenced in them, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the service, and supersede any earlier version.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and the courts of Cambodia have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the United Kingdom, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence.
